Belgian instrumentalists WÖR are heading to the UK very soon for a series of dates with Rural Touring schemes Artsreach and Take Art in the South West.
With their finely textured arrangements, WÖR injects new energy into 18th-century tunes from the Flanders region of Belgium. Their innovative arrangements and superb musicianship shine an inventive spotlight on these long forgotten tunes. Playing saxophone, fiddle, accordion, guitar and bagpipes, these five young Belgian musicians will rock your socks off and stir your soul.
The band are delighted to be invited back to this area, having made many friends during their village halls tour in 2019. As well as concert there is also the chance for instrumentalists to learn something of their tunes in a workshop as Winterborne Stickland on Saturday 8 February.
Wör’s album is brilliant. It’s very exciting to hear a young band reinterpreting old manuscripts in a refreshing and new way. Sam Sweeney
